Cet important vestige du palais des Capétiens offre un remarquable témoignage sur l'architecture civile du XIVe siècle avec la salle des Gens d'Armes, la salle des Gardes et les cuisines. La quasi totalité du niveau bas du palais fut transformée en prison au XVe siècle, on peut y visiter les cachots (la cellule de Marie-Antoinette notamment) et découvrir les souvenirs de la Révolution.
This important vestige of the Palais des Capétiens offers a remarkable testimony to fourteenth century civil architecture with the Salle des Gens d'Armes, the Guardroom and the kitchens. Practically all the lower floor of the palace was transformed into a prison in the fifteenth century, the cells may be visited (including Marie-Antoinette's) and discovery of the souvenirs of the Revolution.
